SBI College Soccer Top 25: October 18 Edition

The Maryland Terrapins may be the consensus number one team in the nation, but the hottest team in college soccer just might be a team from the Sunshine State.

Florida Gulf Coast was one of several big movers in the latest SBI College Soccer Top 25, climbing up to No. 13 after wins against South Florida and Stetson. The Eagles have put together a 10-match winning streak, the longest current streak in the nation, and are scoring goals in bunches in the process. The strike tandem of Albert Ruiz and Arion Sobers-Assue has combined 22 goals in an offense that has scored at least three goals in eight straight matches. The Eagles aren’t just beating up on a weak schedule, with big wins against UNC-Wilmington and South Florida during their current run.

Wake Forest, Virginia and Stanford also made strong moves up after statement victories against ranked opponents. Meanwhile, Radford leads a five-team group that climbed into the top 25 after tying Virginia last week.
