(Buksa 30′, Canouse OG 54′, Bunbury 67′, 84′) – (Asad 22′, Yow 26′, Rivas 75′)

Man of the Match

Adam Buksa was a terror all night for the Revs. He drew a penalty, then converted the rebound off the post for a goal, then later in the match he forced a save that led to New England’s winning goal.

Moment of the Match

Bunbury’s second goal of the night came after a Bill Hamid save off a Buksa shot, as the Revs forward slotted the match-winner just inside the far post.

Match to Forget

Russell Canouse gave up a penalty kick AND scored an own goal, as notorious a double as you can get.

Highlights

Toronto FC 2, Inter Miami 1

(Akinola 55′, Pozuelo 84′) — (Matuidi 42′)

MAN OF THE MATCH

Alejandro Pozuelo. The Spanish star converted the winning penalty kick, but was active throughout, prodding the Inter Miami defense with dribbles and sharp passes.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Late penalty decision. Ben Sweat stood up Richie Laryea in the penalty area, but watched Laryea fall in a heap after Sweat kicked the ball away. The subsequent penalty call looked like an extremely harsh call, but TFC got the call and the win.

MATCH TO FORGET

Ben Sweat was whistled for the decisive penalty that gave Toronto FC the victory, and while Sweat and Inter Miami will argue Laryea’s fall was a dive, Sweat couldn’t be blamed for regretting the challenge that led to the call.

HIGHLIGHTS

Rapids 3, Sounders 1

(Shinyashiki 11′, Rosenberry 42′, Bassett 75′) — (Morris 22′)

MAN OF THE MATCH

Andre Shinyashiki scored Colorado’s opening goal and provided the Rapids with a good defensive presence from the front, with his tireless effort help unsettle Seattle.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

It wasn’t the prettiest match, but Keegan Rosenberry’s volley would have been the highlight of any game.

MATCH TO FORGET

Shane O’Neill seemed to be in good position on the Rapids’ opening goal, but somehow misread the ball or mistimed his jump. He also had at least two turnovers just outside his own penalty area that didn’t lead to goals, but arguably should have cost his team at least once.

HIGHLIGHTS

Timbers 1, Whitecaps 0

(Yimmy Chara 61′)

MAN OF THE MATCH

Yimmi Chara supplied the only goal needed to extend the Timbers’ unbeaten run to four, in addition to setting his team atop the Western Conference for the moment.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Chara’s goal, where he first lent the ball Jorge Villafaña who was credited with the assist. The two’s exchange dazzled the surrounding Whitecaps and Chara executed when space opened up for him so snag his fourth goal of the season.

MATCH TO FORGET

Fredy Montero wasted a golden opportunity in the 78th minute, a play that should have yielded an equalizer. Not only did he have a clean look at goal, but incoming support behind him. He also had time to make a decision and thought too hard about it as his move was ultimately a shank that ended nowhere near either.

HIGHLIGHTS

Galaxy 2, Real Salt Lake 1

(Giancarlo Gonzalez 18′, Pavon 65′) – (Martinez 78′)

Man of the Match

Giancarlo Gonzalez scored the Galaxy’s opening goal, and also made a last-ditch goal-saving clearance off the line that kept RSL off the board until a late consolation goal.

Moment of the Match

Cristian Pavon’s slalom run and finish helped give the Galaxy a vital insurance goal, as he beat a pair of defenders on a run that began at midfield.

Match to Forget

Marcelo Silva was beaten badly on Pavon’s goal and was shaky for much of the night.
