There seems to be a lot of recent calls for an alternate formation with a 3 man back. Not a bad thing to have in our pocket I suppose, but- I think a 4231 serves our current pool deep in midfielders. Part of this is my seeing our team, Reyna- our lack of creativity unlocking defenses being best served with him in the middle backed up by Djordie. Aaronson, LDLT, Sonora perhaps. With Adams, McKennie in the double pivot (backed by Musah), Puli, Weah on the wings (backed by Aaronson)… think we’ve got something. I sure wish Berhalter would warm to the idea of a 10 as… w’ve got some decent options in that role and it would certainly help boost our greatest weaknesses creatively.
