Concacaf W Championship headlines This Week’s Soccer on TV and Online

The battle for the Queens of Concacaf is officially on this week.

The U.S. women’s national team, though twice-defending World Cup champions, do have something to prove in this year’s Concacaf W Championship. After falling to Canada, which marched on to claim Olympic Gold in the Summer games, there is a potential showdown looming in the final should both sides control their respective groups.

The USWNT has largely dominated its regional opponents, and the opportunity to clinch a World Cup and Olympic bid in one swoop is far too rewarding to rest on any laurels from its lengthy unbeaten streak in 2022.

The Americans begin the campaign facing Haiti on Monday, and end the week with Jamaica on Thursday.

A four-game MLS slate also takes place on Monday, with LA Galaxy – CF Montréal’s interconference matchup headlining the action. The race to the postseason is officially on, and Montréal leads a hotly contested Eastern Conference, and the Galaxy are at risk of falling out of the picture in the West.

The Round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores headlines the action in South America this week, and the scoreless matchup of Coca Juniors and Corinthians resolves on Tuesday.

Here is a look at This Week’s Top 5 Matches to Watch, as well as a full rundown of This Week’s Soccer on TV and Online:

This Week’s Top 5 Matches to Watch

  1. United States vs Haiti – Starting the tournament strong will be key, and the USWNT has won all seven meetings with Hati in the past. As long as the new faces in this year’s crop are up to task, a dream start is absolutely for the taking.
  2. Jamaica vs United States – Should be the occasion where the USWNT clinches a World Cup bid.
  3. LA Galaxy vs CF Montréal – A fun interconference matchup that could turn into a wild one.
  4. Colorado Rapids vs Austin FC – Last year’s Western Conference winners are in grave danger of falling outside of shouting distance of a playoff spot.
  5. Boca Juniors vs Corinthians – The best matchup in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16.
