Bedoya, Zardes, Klimala headline eligible players for MLS Expansion Draft

St. Louis CITY SC will have a plethora of players to select from in Friday’s MLS Expansion Draft.

Among key players available are Philadelphia Union midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, Colorado Rapids forward Gyasi Zardes, New York Red Bulls attacker Patryk Klimala, and FC Cincinnati defender Geoff Cameron. Several goalkeepers will also be up for grabs with Minnesota United’s Tyler Miller, Sporting KC’s Tim Melia, and Inter Miami’s C.J. Dos Santos also on the available list.

St. Louis CITY SC will be able to select up to five players in the draft, but they cannot select more than one player from the same team. Austin FC, Atlanta United, D.C. United Los Angeles FC, and New York City FC will not lose a player since they each lost someone to Charlotte FC in last year’s expansion draft.

  1. So wait – does CITY have to be capitalized? Is this yet another gimmick by MLS? Please tell me there is something legitimate behind this. Like a typo.
