EA sports, they’re in the game!

Electronic Arts is partnering with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) to bring all 12 clubs and their players to FIFA 23, the American video game company announced Monday. For the first time in the league’s history the clubs and their players are going virtual.

“We’re passionate about EA Sports continuing to be a change-maker for women’s football, and our partnership with both the NWSL and the NWSLPA is another step we’re taking as an organization to advance the sport,”
Andrea Hopelain, EA Sports’ senior vice president for brand.

The World’s Game plans to introduce all 12 NWSL clubs and their players on March 15. The NWSL will join the English Women’s Super League, Division 1 Feminine, UEFA Women’s Champions League as well as women’s national teams in FIFA 23.

The NWSL players and clubs will feature in several modes: Kick Off, Tournament Mode, Head to Head season/Co-op seasons and Online Friendlies. FIFA 23 is set to add four NWSL stadiums, in addition with authentic kits, stadium decor, trophies and celebrations.

The addition of the NWSL is in perfect time, as the 2023 regular season kicks off March 25 with the North Carolina Courage hosting Kansas City Current.
