The U.S. Under-20 men’s national team closed its March schedule on Tuesday with a goal-less draw vs. Serbia.

Mikey Varas’ side posted a 0-1-2 record during the window, losing 4-0 to France and 4-2 to England before Tuesday’s performance against Serbia. Wolfsburg midfielder/winger Kevin Paredes scored both of the USMNT U-20’s goals this window, continuing to play a leading role ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year.

Paxten Aaronson, Quinn Sullivan, Gabriel Slonina, and Jack McGlynn were also among the prime faces in the squad. Slonina registered a clean sheet on Tuesday as he now heads back to Chelsea’s U-21 squad in the Premier League 2 division.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup draw was expected to take place on Friday March 31, but was postponed due to Israel’s participation in the tournament. Bali Governor Wayan Koster reportedly refused to allow the Israeli national soccer team on his island, citing the Indonesian government’s support for the Palestinian cause.

The USMNT U-20’s clinched its spot into the FIFA U-20 World Cup after capturing the Concacaf U-20 Championship last summer.

Miguel Perez and Kristian Fletcher both scored first-half goals for Marko Mitrovic’s squad, while Rodrigo Neri, Zach Booth, and Nolan Norris also started the match. The USMNT U-19’s posted an undefeated record during the March window, also defeating Argentina’s U-19 squad 3-1 last week.

Sergio Oregel, Korede Osundina, and Rodrigo Neri all found the back of the net in March’s friendly win over Argentina.

  1. Simple you move the U20 WC to another country. Problems solved. I’m sure there are plenty of countries that could host the tournament.
