Rokas Pukstas will soon be on his way to join up with the U.S. Under-20 men’s national team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, but the American midfielder enjoyed success at club level on Wednesday.

Pukstas won the Croatian Cup with Hajduk Split as the first division side defeated relegated Sibenik 2-0. It was the first trophy of Pukstas’ club career, as he prepares to conclude an impressive campaign in Europe.

Following a goal-less first half, Hajduk Split broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute through Dario Melnjak’s opening strike. Marko Livaja sealed the shutout victory from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute as Hajduk Split would earn its fourth-straight win across all competitions.

Pukstas, 18, played 90 minutes from his natural midfield position, totaling his 25th senior appearance this season. The USYNT midfielder has four goals and three assists in all competitions for Ivan Leko’s squad.

Hajduk Split will square off with Sibenik on Sunday in its final league match of the campaign. Pukstas will then head to Argentina with hopes of contributing in Mikey Varas’ USMNT U-20 roster.

    • Agreed….it makes no sense to keep him at the club when there is no way the club can attain first place in their last match, nor be jumped by the 3rd place team
