El Clasico headlines This Weekend’s Soccer on TV

With the European season quickly approaching, many clubs are gearing up for their last friendly matches before the new campaign kicks off.

La Liga’s biggest rivalry takes center stage in Dallas, Texas when El Clasico takes place at AT&T Stadium.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet for the first time this season with Xavi’s men coming off a La Liga-winning season last spring. Los Blancos were off the mark in league and European play, also suffering UEFA Champions League elimination to Manchester City.

Barcelona fell to Arsenal in a thrilling 5-3 match midweek and will hope to sharpen things up with three preseason matches left to play.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup continues with four matches cracking SBI’s Top 5 this week. France and Brazil take centerstage in the headlining match this weekend.

Brazil started its World Cup campaign in comfortable fashion by thumping Panama 4-0 last weekend. Hat-trick hero and Racing Louisville FC forward Ary Borges registered a first-half brace before capping off her perfect performance after halftime.

Despite splitting with points with Jamaica in a 0-0 draw, France has its eyes set on bouncing back in a massive way against a confident Brazilian side.

Action continues with World Cup hopefuls Germany going head-to-head with Colombia.

The Germans kicked off their 2023 campaign in historic fashion by trashing Morocco 6-0 in Group H’s opening match. Colombia also collected three points in its World Cup opener after defeating South Korea 2-0.

Germany put on an excellent performance, out-possessing and outplaying Morocco for the entire 90 minutes. Alexandra Popp registered a brace while fellow teammates Klara Buhl and Lea Schuller added one goal and one assist apiece.

World Cup action doesn’t stop there as 2022 European Champions England take the pitch for its second group stage match against Denmark. Both nations won their opening matches 1-0 and will battle for first place in Group D.

Group G’s headlining match this weekend is Sweden facing off with Italy.
