Christian Pulisic delivered several impressive moments during his first preseason camp with AC Milan and now the U.S. men’s national team star will aim for similar success as the competitive schedule begins.
Pulisic, Yunus Musah, and AC Milan visit Bologna on Monday in their Serie A opener, providing the American attacker with a strong first test in his new colors. The 24-year-old made a permanent move to the Rossoneri this summer, ending his lengthy stay with Chelsea in the English Premier League. Pulisic endured a tough time in London last season, failing to earn consistent playing time despite the Blues’ disappointing results. Now with a new opportunity to get back to his best in Italy, Pulisic will be eager to hit the ground running as AC Milan starts a new quest to capture the Scudetto.
Elsewhere in Italy, Timothy Weah, Weston McKennie and Juventus travel to Udinese in their Serie A opener.

Chelsea weighing up putting in an offer for Balogun. Would this be a good move for him? Blinks out injured and not really an out and out striker. Jackson would be his competition at the 9.
Nkunku not blinks is out injured.
Really hope Pulisic gets off to a strong start this season.
curious if the fanboys who argued we had no money to pay NT coaches realize that when klinsi was coaching the team nearly a decade ago he was making 2.5-3m/yr. first figure being 2014 and second being 2016. since then, bruce was 900k+300k bonus; GB was 1.5m. surely you see the problem on suggesting the new coach needed to be a berhalter budget, and how this has actually gone backwards.
US soccer wasn’t going through legal issues when Klinsmann was there. Legal fees during the equal pay litigation drained US soccer coffers.
Mr. IV and 2tone,
2.5-3.0 million sounds like a lot FOR A USMNT manager but if you put it in context, even in 2011, it wasn’t a lot for an allegedly ambitious national team.
Allegedly.
Compare JK’s salary to that of the national managers of our great foes at the time, Russia and China for example.
JK was hired in 2011. He was a long term goal of Sunil’s and had chased him a for several years.
I have no inside knowledge but it appears that Sunil was better at digging up creative financing for his pet projects than the people who followed him. Or maybe the USSF does not do things that way any more.
“Legal fees during the equal pay litigation drained US soccer coffers.”
That’s a very poor excuse, especially in the sporting world. Top professional organizations get sued a lot and find ways to get their business done regardless.
Or maybe not get sued in the first place.
I prefer the simple answers like thinking that the USSF is an incompetent, low rent cheap shit organization that has other priorities besides making sure that the USMNT is the best team it could possibly be.
The entire USSF budget is about $100 million. After the $24 million payout to settle with the women, the USSF was barely solvent, and had to cut the development academy programs to stay afloat. The wages paid are fair, competitive, and in line with USSF expenses.
Apparently Musah’s red card suspension from Valencia’s final match last season follows him to AC Milan so he is not eligible for Monday’s match.
Dest to PSV. It was Earnie that flew to Amsterdam with Gregg to seal his commitment. According to ESPN.com
Sorry that was unclear, deal with PSV not done. Gregg and Earnie sealed is commitment to US in 2019. This is one of those deals that probably makes to much sense to get done.
Definitely a good move for him if it does happen. Kid is to talented to be wasting away at Barca.
