Americans Abroad Midweek Rewind: Carter-Vickers, Turner, and more

Celtic cruised to a comfortable 7-1 Scottish Premiership victory over Dundee FC on Wednesday with Cameron Carter-Vickers kicking off the scoring in Glasgow.

Carter-Vickers scored the opening goal for Brendan Rodgers’ squad as the defending SPFL champions try to keep pace with rivals Rangers. The U.S. men’s national team defender logged 59 minutes in the match, finishing off Matt O’Riley’s service in the opening seven minutes. Celtic would roll to three points, with Carter-Vickers eclipsing over 1,100 league minutes of playing time this season.

After missing time due an injury earlier this year, the USMNT centerback is back and ready to go with Celtic chasing another league title.

In England, Matt Turner made six saves but Nottingham Forest suffered FA Cup elimination to Manchester United.

In Italy, Tanner Tessmann and Gianluca Busio helped Venezia to a crucial Serie B win. Kristoffer Lund scored his first senior goal for Palermo.
