Christian Pulisic entered the 2024 Copa America fresh off an impactful first season with AC Milan and the 25-year-old immediately carried that form over into Sunday’s first match of the group stage.
Pulisic scored the opening goal at AT&T Stadium before assisting on Folarin Balogun’s finish as the U.S. men’s national team defeated Bolivia 2-0 in Group C play. The USMNT captain earned Man of the Match honors as the USMNT earned their first victory of the summer schedule.
Pulisic’s curling right-footed effort in the third minute boosted the Americans into an early 1-0 lead. Tim Weah’s pass allowed Pulisic to cut onto his right foot before unleashing a powerful effort into the far corner of the Bolivia net.
After setting the tone early, Pulisic connected with Balogun on the USMNT’s insurance goal. His pass allowed the AS Monaco man to create space before drilling a low shot into the bottom-right corner.
Pulisic continued to be a thorn in the Bolivia backline’s side as the match went on. Guillermo Viscarra denied the in-form attacker from adding his second goal of the match in the second half.
Pulisic finished the match with five duels won, one foul drawn, and created three offensive chances. He edged Antonee Robinson, Folarin Balogun, and Tim Weah for Man of the Match honors.
What did you think of Pulisic’s performance? Do you expect more production from him as the Copa America continues?

Good start.
But Panama and Uruguay will both be much , much harder.
They will at least be getting them in the right order.
I thought that the title Captain America was given too soon to Pulisic. Today he played like someone with that nickname should play.
It’s official, Pulisic is a star, awesome game from him. Him and Weah on another level and need one more attacker to raise theirs. Glad Balogun got his goal but he is just not in sync with those guys. Pepi should have had two. Reyna looks fine deeper in midfield but why not push him up when we have 4 other CM that can play deeper and none can play the AM? If Sargent is fit, I hope we see him and Wright both against Panama at some point. Not sold on our defense, lets see how they look against a better team. But solid start for our guys
