Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Robinson, McKennie, and more

Antonee Robinson was once on Manchester City’s radar and now has another opportunity to impress against his former suitors.

Robinson and his Fulham teammates make the trip to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in their final match before the October international break. The U.S. men’s national team left back has continued to be one of the best at his position in the Premier League, logging two assists in six starts to date. Robinson, 27, has been on the reported radar of Manchester United and Liverpool in recent weeks for a potential January transfer.

Fulham hasn’t taken points from the Citizens since 2011, but a road victory would equal them on 14 points with the reigning champions. Robinson will need to be influential if Fulham aims to take points from this match.

In Italy, Weston McKennie and Juventus host Cagliari in Serie A play. Christian Pulisic and AC Milan visit Fiorentina.

In England, Josh Sargent and Norwich City face Hull City. Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United visit Sunderland.

In Germany, Lennard Maloney and FC Heidenheim host RB Leipzig.

In France, Folarin Balogun and Mark McKenzie both hit the road with their respective clubs. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon also continue Ligue 1 play.

Elsewhere, Cameron Carter-Vickers will aim to start for Celtic. Brandon Vazquez and Monterrey remain on the road in Liga MX play. George Bello and LASK host Austria Klagenfurt. Lindsey Horan and Lyon host Montpellier.

Comments

  1. BvB go down 2 in the first half so no debut for Campbell. Adeyemi, Reyna, and Duranville expected out into November so more opportunities await for the young winger.

  2. Sargent if he can stay healthy is looking like he is going to have a very good season. 4 goals and 3 assists in 9 games. If Norwich don’t make the Premier League; I would personally like to see Josh make a move to a better league in the summer…. he would do well in Serie A.
