AC Milan resumed UEFA Champions League play on Tuesday with Christian Pulisic adding to his impressive numbers yet again.
Pulisic scored his eighth goal of the season across all competitions as AC Milan defeated Slovan Bratislava 3-2 in league phase play. The U.S. men’s national team attacker delivered the opening goal of an overall thrilling affair from Slovakia.
Tammy Abraham played Pulisic upfield before watching his attacking teammate cleverly shoot into the bottom-left corner. It marked the 26-year-old’s 10th goal of the season for club and country.
Tigran Barseghyan equalized for the hosts only three minutes later to give them a lifeline heading into the second half.
The Rossoneri recaptured the lead in the 68th minute through Rafael Leao’s go-ahead goal before Abraham made it 3-1 only three minutes later.
Nino Marcelli cut Slovan’s deficit to 3-2 in the 88th minute but the hosts comeback chances would take a hit in stoppage time. Marko Tolic was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, reducing the hosts to 10-men.
AC Milan would hang on for its second win of the league phase this fall.
Pulisic logged 75 minutes in the match while USMNT teammate Yunus Musah played the final 15 minutes off the bench.
Unbeaten in its last five matches across all competitions, AC Milan resumes Serie A play on Saturday against Empoli.
