A quartet of U.S. men’s national team stars all saw the field on Saturday as AC Milan and Juventus shared the points in a Serie A showdown.
AC Milan and Juventus played a 0-0 draw from the San Siro as Weston McKennie and Yunus Musah both started in the match. Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah, who both scored on USMNT duty last week, featured off the bench in the league contest.
Scoring opportunities were few from Milan as the two sides only registered three shots on target. AC Milan’s Mike Maignan made two saves while Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio totaled one save of his own.
McKennie played 80 minutes in Thiago Motta’s starting lineup while Musah logged 84 minutes in Paulo Fonseca’s set-up.
Pulisic featured off the bench for the last 20 minutes while Weah played the final 10. All four players failed to create an offensive opportunity in the match as Juventus stays in front of AC Milan by six points.
Both teams will resume UEFA Champions League play this week with AC Milan visiting Slovan Bratislava and Juventus taking on Aston Villa.
This game was a snooze fest. Both teams looked like they were just resting for CL.
JR,
It was a “professional” performance by both teams.
When one team runs out the clock for 90 minutes it’s a “professional” performance. When both teams do it, it’s a “snooze fest”. There was so little action you could actually see the grass growing. If AC Milan needs to rest that much ahead of a match with Bratislava they’ve got problems.
