The U.S. women’s national team has learned its February 2025 schedule.
Australia, Colombia, and Japan will join the USWNT for the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, U.S. Soccer announced Wednesday. Houston’s Shell Energy Stadium, Glendale’s State Farm Stadium, and San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium have been chosen as the host cities for the annual competition.
The USWNT will take on No. 21 ranked Colombia on Feb. 20 before facing No. 15 ranked Australia on Feb. 23 and No. 7 ranked Japan on Feb. 26.
Each team will play three matches apiece, with the winner of the tournament once again being determined by total points (three for a win, one for a tie). The first tiebreaker will be overall goal difference, followed by most goals scored, then head-to-head result and lastly, fair play ranking if necessary.
“This will be my first SheBelieves Cup, but I’ve followed the tournament, and it always produces close games between top teams,” said USWNT head coach Emma Hayes. “All four of these teams were in the last World Cup and Olympics, and all are in the building process to qualify for the next World Cup, so to get three games against talented teams and players in a format that replicates group play at a world championship is valuable in our process. All the games will be great tests for the teams and fun for all the fans.”
The SheBelieves Cup will be the second event for the USWNT in 2025 as the team will come together for a January training camp in Los Angeles that will run from January 14-21. The camp will run concurrently with the “Futures Camp” that will feature up-and-coming USWNT prospects.
The USWNT have won nine of their 13 all-time meetings with Australia, 14 of their 20 all-time meetings with Japan, and 10 of their 12 all-time meetings with Colombia.
With the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup vastly approaching, the SheBelieves Cup will serve as another preparation tournament for the USWNT.
