Ledezma, Pepi, Tillman all score in latest PSV rout

For the first time this season, the American trio at Eredivisie side PSV all celebrated goalscoring performances.

Ricardo Pepi, Malik Tillman, and Richie Ledezma all scored as PSV routed FC Twente 6-1 at the Philips Stadion. It marked the first time that three American players scored in a single Dutch league match.

The visitors struck first in the 10th minute but PSV would rally and eventually flip the match in its favor.

Noa Lang equalized for PSV in the 20th minute before Tillman propelled the hosts in front 2-1 only 14 minutes later.

Ismael Saibari’s cross was finished off by Tillman for his sixth Eredivisie goal of the campaign. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder took advantage of a failed FC Twente clearance and drilled home into the bottom corner.

Saibari would make it 3-1 heading into halftime, giving PSV a two-goal cushion at home.

Pepi set up Saibari for his second goal of the night in the 54th minute before Ledezma netted his first goal since May 2022. Lang’s pass was received by Ledezma before the right back roofed a shot into the top-left corner.

Pepi capped off PSV’s lopsided win by scoring his 10th league goal of the season.

PSV moved to 14-0-1 this season, extending its lead at the top of the table by nine points over Ajax. Peter Bosz’s men will next face a trip to Stade Brest on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League.

  1. Twente came in 5th and giving up only 1g per game. Big boost for Pepi who’d been primarily starting against bottom half teams and Richie who hadn’t played much since Karsdorp signed.
