Opportunities have been few and far between for Ethan Horvath this winter but the veteran goalkeeper could get the nod on Thursday when Cardiff City kicks off FA Cup action.
Horvath and his Bluebird teammates face off with Sheffield United in an All-EFL Championship affair at Bramall Lane. The 29-year-old has made only four appearances this season, falling behind Jan Alnwick in the goalkeeping pecking order in Wales. Despite being the No. 1 for most of last year, Horvath has been dropped to the No. 2 spot this season.
A strong performance against Sheffield United is unlikely to change his role for the resumption of the league season, but Horvath could desperately use minutes for his own confidence.
Elsewhere in England, Antonee Robinson and Fulham host Watford in FA Cup play.
In Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic face Dundee United in Premiership action.
