Road shutout victories have continued to be a common theme for Crystal Palace this winter.
Chris Richards logged 90 minutes on Saturday as the Eagles defeated London rivals Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. The result was Crystal Palace’s fifth 2-0 road victory in the past seven matches across all competitions.
A Joachim Andersen own goal paired with Daniel Munoz’s second-half goal guided Oliver Glasner’s men to a bounce-back victory in Premier League action.
Richards, who continues to remain a regular in Glasner’s starting lineup, rarely put a foot wrong in the match. The U.S. men’s national team centerback won six duels, made six clearances, and one tackle as the Eagles moved six points back of the top half of the league table.
Despite a rocky start to the season, the 24-year-old Richards has found his form again after earning his 10th-straight start in all competitions.
Richards and Crystal Palace will close their February schedule on Tuesday against Aston Villa.
Elsewhere in England, Josh Sargent continued his hot run with two goals. Tyler Adams featured off of the bench in Bournemouth’s shocking home defeat.
In Italy, Christian Pulisic missed the first penalty kick of his club career in AC Milan’s Serie A loss. Gianluca Busio and Venezia held Lazio to a goal-less draw.
In Germany, Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach suffered a home loss. Gio Reyna logged 69 minutes in his first league start since December.
In France, Mark McKenzie and Toulouse rolled to three points.
In Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Celtic suffered a setback in league play. Jonathan Tomkinson and Ross County earned another victory. Bryan Reynolds and Westerlo suffered defeat in Belgium. Rokas Pukstas logged 90 minutes in Hajduk Split’s dominant victory. Alex Zendejas and Club America continued to roll in Liga MX play.

Good call featuring Richardson – his emergence over the last few months has quietly been one of the biggest undercommented stories in the USMNT. With Robinson and a healthy Dest, anyhow, we’ve been very strong at outside back…but CB had continued to be an ongoing (and glaring!) weakness. Richardson’s game has really solidified, though, and that in turn really solidifies the US CB pool. Mark McKenzie emerging as a regular and very consistent starter for Toulouse has similarly been a major plus; I was a little shocked how composed and competent McKenzie looked his last window and his continuing to get 90 every week in Ligue 1 is also significant. I still think Ream remains an important depth piece heading into World Cup ’26, and while you don’t want him to be an every-game starter he still adds a ton to the pool in that position, especially since Richardson and McKenzie are still fairly young, especially for the CB position.
All things being equal, I feel better about the CB position than I have in a good long while. We just need these guys to remain healthy and keep racking up the minutes.
Annoyed that Slonina has not come back. The finger injury he sustained has no return date for his recovery. Really bad timing since the Nation’s league is next month.
Since he’s back with Chelsea 2 there isn’t much info being reported. He could still go on loan back to MLS but looks like he’ll probably spend the rest of the year with Chelsea’s youth team.
