Caleb Wiley joins Watford on loan for remainder of season

Caleb Wiley will spend the second half of the European season in the EFL Championship.

Wiley was loaned by parent club Chelsea to Watford for the remainder of the current season, both clubs announced. The U.S. men’s national team winger/wingback spent the first half of the season with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Wiley made six appearances for Strasbourg while also dealing with knee and shoulder injuries during parts of the season.

A former Atlanta United homegrown, Wiley joined Chelsea in a permanent deal last summer from the Five Stripes.

He scored six goals and added seven assists in 85 combined appearances for Atlanta United.

Internationally, Wiley has earned three caps for the USMNT and also featured for the Olympic Team in Paris, France last summer.

Watford sit 12th in the EFL Championship standings.
