Bournemouth couldn’t hang on for three points in its trip to Tottenham on Sunday but Tyler Adams walked away from the match with another important 90 minutes under his belt.
Adams went the distance yet again in Sunday’s 2-2 draw between the Cherries and Spurs. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder rarely put a foot wrong, leading all players in duels won (8) and tackles completed (4). Adams also made two interceptions and eight recoveries, delivering another strong shift in the middle of the park.
Despite Andoni Iraola’s men coughing up two points in North London, the Spanish manager will be pleased with Adams’ latest showing, as well USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Bournemouth welcomes Brentford to the South Coast next on March 15 before hosting Manchester City in FA Cup play 15 days later.

Possible impact players for the USMNT’s upcoming games:
Pulisic
McKennie
Adams
Musah
A. Robinson
Weah
CCV
Richards
Trusty
yes defenders can be impactful
Not quite there yet (or coming off injury)
Reyna
Sargent
Wright
Dest
Cardoso
Balogen
A. Morris
Zendejas
McKenzie
A myriad of others, injured and not, could be a surprise.
I don’t see any of the keepers as someone who can be counted on turn a result (in a positive way). No Howard, Keller, or Friedel coming up. Please surprise me!

At the start of the season it was publicized that McKennie would not likely figure in Juve’s starting 11, or maybe even not at all.
Yesterday, he was probably the best player on the field for Juve. Either he has improved a lot, his teammates have regressed a lot, or the pundits don’t know what they are talking about.
McKennie was in the doghouse not too long ago at Juventus. He has always had the talent but lacked consistency. Now he is the midfield anchor, a role he worked hard to attain and has deservedly earned. Arguably our most improved player over the last year.
McKennie’s managers always sing his praises it’s always “management” that are trying to move him on. I think at least some of it is related to Douglas Luiz not being able to stay healthy. They’ve slid Koopmeiners into that deeper role that should have been Luiz’s and put Wes in the #10 role. Since moving to the 10 on Feb 2 Wes has 9 appearances all as an AM 1g 0a Juve is 5-1 in Serie A during that stretch but got knocked out of Copia Italia and CL so mixed results.
Any reason why Jonathan Klinsmann (Cesena) isn’t included?
FWIW, I just found out myself he’s been playing regularly in Serie B.
Before that he was with the Galaxy.
He’s 27, 6’4″, is very good with his feet ( he played striker for a long time before choosing goal keeper. He seems to have all the tools.
From what I’ve seen of him, and I’m certainly not the final authority, he could be a good to very good keeper. If I’m Johnathan and I look over this keeper crew, I think “I can take these guys.”.
The question, especially with Pochettino around ( who JK the elder, knows very well) is just how committed is Jonathan? He certainly knows the business as well as anyone and I would think the lure of playing in a World Cup at home in front of family and friends would be about as powerful as it gets.
Right now I believe he has 19 games in Serie B and has conceded 20 goals so he’ll have to turn up his intensity levels a bit.
I was really impressed with Musah for Milan too. The knock on Musah’s been, he advances the ball well and has a great engine, but there’s just not enough end product and his final ball is usually a letdown. You can see he’s making a conscious effort right now, though, to be more goal-dangerous and get involved more in the final third…he had two really good shots that could have been scores and an assist the keeper also robbed him of. He ran off Reijnders, picked up the ball almost on the end line, and squared it to Jiminez, who almost scored with a backheel but the keeper got a foot on it. I also saw him in the box fighting for second balls, another thing I haven’t seen much of him historically. You get the sense the real problem with Musah is iffy confidence, but the skill and talent to be a top-echelon player is there if he can get his mentality right and he seems to be getting closer.
Musah is 22
He’s been with us since Nov. of 2020.
He has 1 goal for us, 0 goals for Milan, 2 goals for Valencia.
Everything you just wrote describing Musah’s offensive efforts you could have written back in 2020 and it would have been true.
His managers play him, because he’s dynamic and makes everyone else play better. He isn’t good enough yet to take over and boss the midfield but the hope is one day he will.
If he was on a better team than the USMNT or Milan he would not be getting as much time as he does but both teams need him now.
Pochettino has been a fan of his since Yunus’ academy days was back in London so it will be great to see what he does with Yunus.
All things considered, Musah’s experience with AC Milan has been positive. The problem with AC Milan this season is inconsistency and erratic play. Musah has been that player in the MF that does all the unnoticed things that make his teammates perform better. He won’t impress you with dazzling footwork or a booming shot, but all together his quality has risen during this stint at AC Milan.
Damion Downs is injured, he messed his hand up and needs surgery. Really wanted to see him compete for a NL roster spot.
Tyler Adams was an absolute beast today for Bournemouth. The kid was EVERYWHERE. The Adams we all know with WHEELS is back and playing his heart out in EPL. Just hope he can keep this going for a long stretch with out injury.
