CF Montreal has become the first MLS club to make a coaching change this season.
Laurent Courtois has been relieved of his duties, the Canadian club announced Monday. Assistant coach Marco Donadel will become the club’s interim head coach as a search for a new hire begins.
Courtois was hired by CF Montreal in January 2024. He registered a 12-13-20 record during his time in the role.
Prior to his move to Canada, Courtois served as head coach of MLS NEXT Pro side Columbus Crew 2. He led them to 38 victories out of 59 matches in charge, winning the league title in 2022.
CF Montreal sits bottom of the Eastern Conference through the opening five matches of the season.
