Report: Malik Tillman makes early return to PSV training

Malik Tillman could reportedly make his PSV return earlier than originally expected.

Tillman is back in training with the Eredivisie giants, Dutch outlet ED reported Monday. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder originally suffered an ankle injury in early-February, which was expected to rule him out several months.

However, Tillman now looks set to make a return following the March international break.

The 22-year-old joined PSV permanently last summer from Bayern Munich after previously spending time in Eindhoven on loan. Tillman has contributed 11 goals and four assists in 26 appearances this season.

In total, Tillman has appeared on over 50 matches for the Dutch club.

PSV was recently eliminated from the UEFA Champions League and is six points off the lead in the Eredivisie table.

Peter Bosz’s squad faces league-leading Ajax on March 30 in their first match back from the international break.

  1. Nice. Still have high hopes foe him with the USMNT. Crazy to think how young these guys are still. Luna 21, Reyna 22, and Tillman 22. All three will be important for the US going forward beyond 2026.

    • All 3 play the same position. Attacking midfield. All 3 are below average defenders, which for all 3 means defense is optional. Huge liability for any team. All 3 aren’t great athletes. (If Paxton Aaronson, Cade Sullivan, or Kevin Paredes are good athletes, then yes, you will say these 3 are upper echelon of athletes) Where do you play them 3-5-2? Who starts? Who’s benched?

    • You didn’t answer any of my questions. I tried. You truly aren’t interested in conversation. You post just to read you own posts.

  2. PSV really needed this kid in Champions League. He (and Ricardo Pepi!!!) would have really made a difference for the club if he wasn’t injured……

    • Also Dest, but honestly I don’t think they could beat Arsenal in a two leg with 3 Americans, but they could have at least made the second leg mean something. They really need him for Ajax. It’s not a must mathematically but it’s pretty much a must win and definitely a can’t lose.
