Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Richards faces Adams, and more

Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are both aiming for places in European Football next season, but first will have to do battle with one another for the final time this campaign.

The Eagles welcome the Cherries to Selhurst Park on Saturday in a matchup that will likely feature a pair of the U.S. men’s national team’s most important players. Tyler Adams and Chris Richards have been key for their respective clubs, helping them to current spots in the top half.

Richards has continued to log important minutes in Oliver Glasner’s squad, but overall the Eagles will be seeking a bounce-back result. Crystal Palace suffered a 5-0 hammering at Newcastle United on Wednesday, missing an opportunity to move closer to a European spot.

Adams logged his latest 90 minutes for Bournemouth as the Cherries defeated Fulham 1-0 on Monday. The USMNT midfielder has continued to gain confidence in Andoni Iraola’s squad, which is crucial ahead of a busy international summer.

Elsewhere in England, Emily Fox and Arsenal take on Lindsey Heaps in Women’s Champions League play. Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United aim to take one step closer to promotion. Antonee Robinson and Fulham square off with Chelsea.

In Spain, Johnny Cardoso and Real Betis take on Girona.

In France, Mark McKenzie squares off with Jordan Pefok in Ligue 1 play.

In Italy, Weston McKennie and Juventus take on Parma in Serie A action.

In Germany, Joe Scally and Gio Reyna face off in Bundesliga play. Kevin Paredes and Lennard Maloney also meet in league action.

Elsewhere, Dante Polvara and Aberdeen seek advancement to the Scottish Cup Final. George Bello and LASK resume league play in Austria. Rokas Pukstas aims for playing time with Hajduk Split.

Comments

  1. No one talking about Matko Miljevic. He has 5 goals and is leading second place Huracan in the Argentine Primera league. Another player with skill and fight like Luna. Won’t be surprised if he gets another look possibly in the Gold Cup.

  2. Crystal Palace have “lost their way” right now. They are not connecting with each other or combining well, and they cannot seem to play out the back to save their life (defenders to midfielders and midfielders to attackers)
Maybe….just maybe…..they can get it together against Bournemouth
