Scottish leaders Celtic rolled to three points on Saturday with American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers scoring one of the better goals of the season.
Carter-Vickers scored Celtic’s fourth goal of Saturday’s 5-1 home league victory over Kilmarnock.
Reo Hatate opened the scoring for Brendan Rodgers’ squad before Daizen Maeda extended the Hoops lead to 2-0 two minutes later.
Carter-Vickers stepped up in the 21st minute and dialed his own number from long range, stroking a right-footed thunderbolt into the far left corner.
It marked Carter-Vickers’ first league goal of the season and his second overall in all competitions.
Hatate added his second goal of the match three minutes later, giving Celtic a 4-0 lead.
Daniel Armstrong pulled one goal back for Kilmarnock before halftime, but it barely made a dent in the hosts’ lopsided lead.
Anthony Ralston added an insurance goal for Celtic in second-half stoppage time.
Carter-Vickers has now made 39 appearances this season in all competitions for Celtic. He has remained a stalwart in the backline despite some injury hiccups earlier in the season.
Celtic returns to Scottish Cup play next weekend, traveling to St. Johnstone in semifinal action on April 20.
What does “curly toed it” mean?
You know what was a real stunner when 3 of his teammates put there hands on their heads….lol. An absolute rocket. WOW
On another note……BRIAN WHITE AND EMMANUEL SABBI……BRUH🔥🔥🔥!!!! Oh my goodness. Mauricio Pochettino, I hope you have your notepad out and your staff are watching / taking notes. Vancouver is DESTROYING teams right now……
Sebastian Berhalter has been very good for them in midfield as well. He didn’t have much to do yesterday given it was 4-0 when he came on but he had a nice shot saved by Stuver. Stuver had six saves including a penalty or it would have been even worse. I thought Sebastian was better than Morris in ‘20 when they were breaking in with The Crew, but Berhalter and Nagbe got Covid and missed the final. Aidan had a great final and Sebastian got loaned out to Austin. Morris had recovered from his knee injury by ‘22 and The Crew still had Artur and Nagbe so he got sold to Vancouver.

I don’t see him making a full roster at this point but perhaps if it’s a B/C Gold Cup squad or next January if he continues to play the way he has in month one.
Dang. CCV where you been hiding that?
Reminds me of a Fulham game I was watching during the 2009-10 season (I had to do some research, but pretty sure that was the season). They were playing a much better team like Man U or Liverpool and getting pretty manhandled. It was fairly close to half time when their left back, Paul Konchevsky, from about 40 yard out unleashed a real screamer for a goal to tie it up. I thought at the time that when they went in for the coach’s (Roy Hodgson) talk at half time he should have said, “Here’s my plan for the second half. Paul, do that again.” I doubt Konchevsky ever did and I doubt CCV will ever repeat that goal.
CCV had one from a similar spot Sept. 11, 2021 against Ross County (I had to look that up) that one took a deflection though. I wonder if Ange used to encourage it because the past few years he’s taken 4 or 5 from distance each year, this was his first of the season.
