The 2024-25 Serie A season concludes this Sunday with plenty at stake on both ends of the league table.
Gianluca Busio and Venezia face off with Weston McKennie and Juventus on Sunday in a crucial match for both clubs. Busio and Venezia enter the final match day sitting in the bottom three of the league standings. The American midfielder has played a leading role in the Venezia squad, logging 33 appearances and two goals. However, a loss for Venezia would certainly doom them to life in Italy’s second-tier next August.
As for McKennie and Juventus, they haven’t guaranteed a top-four spot just yet. The Bianconeri sit fourth on 67 points, fighting with both Roma and Lazio for the final UEFA Champions League automatic berth. The 26-year-old McKennie has scored two goals and added four assists in Serie A play this season, showing his versatility in a number of different roles.
Both clubs will be fighting to complete their goals on Sunday night, knowing that one might not finish where they ultimately want to.
Elsewhere in Italy, Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah and AC Milan face Monza in their final match of the season.
In France, Jordan Pefok and Stade Reims take on PSG in the Coupe De France Final.
In England, Antonee Robinson, Tyler Adams and Chris Richards conclude their Premier League campaigns.

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF AMERICAN MAEL CORBOZ??????!!!!!!!!
Mael Corboz, an American midfielder, has captained Arminia Bielefeld, a German third-division team, to the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) final. Arminia Bielefeld is making history by reaching the final for the first time. They beat defending champions Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals.
They knocked out Union Berlin, Freiburg and Werden Bremen before taking down holders Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-final.
…..AND THEY JUST ASCENDED TO 2. BUNDESLIGA THIS SEASON ……. LOL😂
Arminia Bielefeld got beaten by lack of quality in the final third. They had the possession and chances but just couldn’t finish…..something Stuttgart did well. They more than held their own against a Bundesliga team and look really good (a 3. Bundesliga team!!!). Absolute amazing.

Yes, Eastdeflection that used to be a regular here highlighted him earlier in the season. He’s 30 and never played above lower divisions. Played for one of my favorite named teams Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch 2nd division. Been in 3Bundesliga for last few years. Hard to believe Bielfield was in the Bundesliga just three years ago and nearly dropped to the 4th division last year. They’ll play again Thursday in the Westphalia Cup (that’s how low they are that they are playing in their regional competition) against SF Lotte (4th Division) and yes they’ve been trying to win Corbuz has started their last two rounds.
Arminia Bielefeld rcord:
2021 – 2022 season – in Bundesliga (relegated)
2022 – 2023 season – in 2. Bundesliga (relegated)
2023 – 2024 season – finished 14th (12 points away from relegation)
2024 – 2025 season – finished 1st
30 years old and only playing for lower leagues……Yet he’s been very very impressive this season. Corboz signed for Arminia Bielefeld in January 2024 and was named captain for the 2024–25 season then took his team immediately to 2. Bundesliga (top of the table on less) and beat BUNDESLIGA TEAMS Union Berlin (No. 13), Freiburg (No. 5), Werden Bremen (No.8), then Bayer Leverkusen (No. 2) in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal…….and then lost in the final with more shots, more total passing and better passing accuracy and the Bundesliga Team they played that won the German Cup Absolutely impressive any which way you look at it
Going to be following this kid in the 2025 – 2026 season
Mael Corboz “The American Jamie Vardy”! Bielfeld also have American Isaiah Young, who played for the U20s and U19s in 2016-17.
