Noahkai Banks is committing his future to Bundesliga side Augsburg.
Banks has signed a contract extension with Augsburg until June 2029, the club announced Monday. Despite growing interest elsewhere in Banks’ services, he is scheduled to remain in Germany for the foreseeable future.
“Noahkai Banks showed that he possesses lots of potential on his Bundesliga debut and in the second half of last season,” said Augsburg CEO Michael Ströll. “He’s shown that he can succeed in professional football. His performances, especially at such a young age, have led to him catching the eye.
“We’re therefore really pleased that Noahkai has signed a long-term contract here at FCA. An academy product going into their 11th straight season with us is a special story and a prime example of how we want to operate.”
Banks came up through Augsburg’s academy before making his senior debut in January 2025. He proceeded to make eight Bundesliga appearances during the second half of the season, while also featuring for the Under-23’s.
A U.S. Under-20 men’s national team player, Banks was named to the CONCACAF Gold Cup provisional roster.
“I got my first taste of professional football last season, which was really special,” Banks said in a club interview. “However, I’m hungry for more and I want to take the next steps in my development. The club has a clear plan for me and have given me some long-term backing. I’m looking forward to the next few years together.”
Augsburg finished 12th in the Bundesliga last season but ended the campaign winless in its last five matches.
Nice. Another young talented CB.
Hope to see Ian Fray get a shot with the USMNT soon. Would be perfect competition for the RCB/RB hybrid spot.
Ian Fray is with Jamaica, dont think he will be called up.
