Donovan Pines has made the move to the Austrian Bundesliga.
Pines has joined Grazer AK as a free agent signing, the club announced. The former DC United defender signed a one-year contract through the 2025-26 season, which also includes a club option for an additional season.
“In Donovan we have found exactly the player profile we were looking for defensively,” Grazer sporting director Didi Elsneg said. “He is tall, duel star, fast and has good penalty area control. In the test match, he immediately convinced us of himself and we are happy that we were able to reach an agreement with him.”
Pines, 27, spent the last two seasons with EFL League One side Barnsley, making 31 combined appearances and scoring four goals.
Prior to his move abroad, Pines made 87 MLS appearances with DC United. He’s also earned two caps with the U.S. men’s national team to date.
Grazer AK sit seventh in the Bundesliga table after one match and will next face Red Bull Salzburg on Saturday.
