Christian Pulisic delivers winning goal in Milan Derby

Christian Pulisic loves himself a Milan Derby.

Pulisic scored AC Milan’s winning goal on Sunday in a 1-0 Serie A victory over rivals Inter. It marked Pulisic’s third goal in his eighth-career appearance against Inter.

After a goal-less first half, the Rossoneri broke the deadlock in the 54th minute. Alexis Saelemaekers drilled a shot from 20+ yards out before the rebound fell to Pulisic for an easy tap-in.

It marked Pulisic’s sixth goal of the season in all competitions and his fifth in Serie A play.

Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was key in the Rossoneri hanging on for three points. Maignan made six saves in total to preserve the clean sheet.

Pulisic played 78 minutes in the match, completing two dribble attempts. He watched the remainder of the match from the sidelines.

Massimiliano Allegri’s squad sit two points behind league-leading AS Roma after 12 matches played.

AC Milan will next host Lazio on November 29 before facing off with them again in Coppa Italia play on Dec. 4.

  1. Pulisic has fans in Europe. I was on a Rhine River Cruise 2 weeks ago. All the staff spoke English, but came from all over Europe. I was talking with one waiter and he said that he is Rumanian. I asked him about football, his favorite team, etc. When he realized I was an American he started going on and on about Pulisic and what a great player he is. It means nothing, but I thought it was interesting since we often have no idea just how much impact US players have abroad.
