Antonee Robinson “progressing well” ahead of Fulham return

Antonee Robinson’s long spell on the Fulham sidelines is on the verge of ending.

Robinson has continued to train with the team ahead of a potential return to action, Cottagers manager Marco Silva confirmed Friday. The U.S. men’s national team left back last featured for Fulham back on September 28, missing ample time due to a consistent issue with his knee.

Robinson underwent surgery last May at the conclusion of the English Premier League campaign, which has led to his absence from USMNT duty in the summer and fall. Despite featuring sparingly in August and September, the 28-year-old has missed most of the current league campaign.

However, with Ryan Sessegnon now sidelined with his own injury, Robinson could jump right back into the No. 1 role as early as this weekend.

“He is training with the team, he is progressing well, he is doing well,” Silva said in his prematch press conference. “Now is a matter of time when we are going to decide for him to be in contention or not.

“We have another session tomorrow, we are going to see, but last week was a good week for him in terms of individual work, and step by step to adjust things and to be with the team,” Silva added. “This week he has been with the team as well. Another session tomorrow, let’s see how he’s going to react to a complete week, and after we are going to take a decision on him.”

Fulham hosts Burnley at Craven Cottage on Saturday before traveling to Newcastle United on December 17 for an EFL Cup quarterfinal tie. Should Robinson not be 100% ready to go for either of those two matches, the Cottagers will take on Nottingham Forest and West Ham to close their 2025 schedule.
