Tullis-Joyce to meet Thompson, Girma, Macario in League Cup Final

The 2026 Women’s League Cup Final will feature four U.S. women’s national team players.

Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Manchester United will square off with Alyssa Thompson, Naomi Girma, Catarina Macario and Chelsea in March 15th’s final at Ashton Gate in Bristol, England. Chelsea are making their seventh-straight finals appearance in the competition while Manchester United have reached the final for the first time in club history.

Tullis-Joyce earned Player of the Match honors on Wednesday as Marc Skinner’s squad edged Arsenal 1-0 in semifinal play. The USWNT goalkeeper continued her productive run in the starting lineup, registering her third-consecutive shutout in all competitions.

Elisabeth Terland’s first-half goal proved to be the difference between the two clubs.

Chelsea edged Manchester City 1-0 also in semifinal play on Wednesday, using a Wieke Kaptein goal before halftime to advance. Both Thompson and Girma started the match and played 90 minutes apiece while Macario remained out of action due to injury.

Macario is expected to return soon after being sidelined since December 22.

Manchester United will be seeking its third-ever trophy while Chelsea seeks its fourth League Cup since 2019.
