Manchester United cruised its way into the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals on Thursday.
Phallon Tullis-Joyce continued her productive run in between the posts, registering a four-save clean sheet in a 3-0 second leg win over Atletico Madrid. The Red Devils advanced 7-0 on aggregate past their Spanish visitors, setting up a quarterfinal clash with German club Bayern Munich.
Tullis-Joyce helped the Red Devils earn their eighth-straight win in all competitions while also extending their unbeaten run to 12 matches in the process. The U.S. women’s national team goalkeeper has conceded just seven goals over that span, registering seven clean sheets.
With Manchester United’s hopes of a potential quadruple still alive, Tullis-Joyce will hope to continue playing at a high level for the remaining three months.
Up next for Tullis-Joyce and her Man United teammates is a trip to Chelsea in the FA Cup Round of 16.
Elsewhere, Folarin Balogun scored twice in Monaco’s UCL first leg loss to PSG. Weston McKennie registered one assist in Juventus’ loss in Turkey. Malik Tillman featured off of the bench in Bayer Leverkusen’s first leg win over Olympiakos. Christian Pulisic and Alex Freeman both made late cameos for their clubs.
