Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Adams, Balogun, and more

Two months since he walked off of the Old Trafford pitch, Tyler Adams looks ready to get back to action for AFC Bournemouth.

Adams will be seeking his first appearance since December 15 on Saturday when Andoni Iraola’s men visit West Ham United in Premier League action. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder is back and ready to go after suffering an MCL injury against Manchester United back on December 20.

Despite not featuring in Bournemouth’s 2-1 comeback win over Everton on February 10, Adams is back ahead of schedule with three months left in this season’s club campaign. Adams has made 16 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring two goals and bringing his consistently strong work rate to the mix.

If Bournemouth wants to force itself into the mix for a European spot by season’s end, having a healthy and hungry Adams back in the squad will be vital.

Elsewhere in England, Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United visit Aston Villa. Chris Richards and Crystal Palace take on Wolves. Haji Wright and Daryl Dike square off in EFL Championship play.

In France, Folarin Balogun and Monaco face a trip to league-leading Lens. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon visit Strasbourg.

In Italy, Christian Pulisic and AC Milan host Ben Cremaschi and Parma. Weston McKennie and Juventus host Como on Saturday.

In Germany, Malik Tillman and Bayer Leverkusen visit Union Berlin in Bundesliga play. Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach visit Freiburg.

In Spain, Johnny Cardoso and Atletico Madrid host Espanyol while Alex Freeman and Villarreal host Valencia.

Elsewhere, Danny Leyva and Necaxa host Toluca in Liga MX play. Bryan Reynolds and Westerlo host Sporting Charleroi in Belgian league play. Marlon Fossey and Standard Liege visit Genk.
