Haji Wright’s continuous goal productive in 2026 is playing a vital part in Coventry City’s push for Premier League promotion.
Wright scored in back-to-back EFL Championship starts this week, helping the Sky Blues stay top of the league table. It marked Wright’s second goal this week and fifth in his last four appearances, earning him SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors.
Frank Lampard’s squad picked up a crucial pair of league wins this week, with Wright delivering once again for the Sky Blues. He scored once midweek in a 2-1 comeback victory over Sheffield United before opening the scoring Saturday at the CBS Arena vs. Stoke City.
After going through a tough spell during the November and December months, Wright looks back on form as the Sky Blues seek a positive end to their promotion push. In addition, the 27-year-old will hope this goalscoring form will boost him back into the U.S. men’s national team picture for March’s home friendlies vs. Portugal and Belgium.

The goals have also continued to come regularly for Folarin Balogun this winter.
Balogun scored his 12th goal of the season in all competitions as Monaco defeated Angers 2-0 in Ligue 1 play on Saturday. The American forward has now scored four goals in his last four appearances in all competitions, helping Monaco remain in the race for a European spot next season.
Right now, it will be him and Wright fighting for the No. 9 job with the USMNT in March.
Noahkai Banks
Noahkai Banks played a key role in Augsburg’s latest Bundesliga win on Friday.
Banks assisted on Augsburg’s opening goal in a 2-0 victory over FC Koln. The 19-year-old defender also won two duels, made four clearances, and one interception as he racked up his latest 90 minutes in the starting lineup.
Augsburg are flying high after three-consecutive wins heading into a March 7 showdown with RB Leipzig.
Danny Leyva
Necaxa did not pick up three points at Club Leon on Saturday but Danny Leyva did deliver another positive outing for the visitors.
Leyva created four offensive chances, registered one assist, and won four duels in a 2-1 road Liga MX defeat. The 22-year-old continues to find consistent playing time in Mexico, a testament to his quick adjustment from MLS.
Yunus Musah
50 months since his last goal at club level, Yunus Musah finally got celebrate that feeling again.
Musah scored his first Serie A goal on Sunday in Atalanta’s 2-1 road loss to Sassuolo. The American midfielder came off the bench and delivered a strong finish to end his lengthy goalscoring drought.
With close to three months to go until Mauricio Pochettino picks his World Cup roster, Musah will hope his goalscoring performance sparks a strong remainder of the league season.
