The 2026 U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal matchups are set.
All eight clubs featuring in May’s quarterfinal round will be representing MLS after the Round of 16 concluded on Wednesday night. New York City and St. Louis CITY SC are the two lone clubs remaining that have yet to win the competition.
NYCFC will face a trip to the Columbus Crew after both advanced this week. Pascal Jansen’s squad edged rivals New York Red Bulls 3-1 in Harrison, New Jersey while the Crew rolled past USL League One club One Knoxville SC 4-1 on home soil.
Orlando City used a late comeback to down the New England Revolution 4-3, setting up a quarterfinal showdown with Atlanta United. As for the Five Stripes, they shutout Charlotte 2-0 away from home, using goals from Aleksey Miranchuk and Cooper Sanchez to down so.
St. Louis CITY SC will host the Houston Dynamo in the next round after both grinded their way to Round of 16 victories on Wednesday. St. Louis used a pair of second-half goals to defeat the Chicago Fire 2-1 while the Dynamo avoided an upset by defeating Louisville City SC 2-1 at home.
The final matchup should be the most entertaining as the San Jose Earthquakes pay a trip to the Colorado Rapids. Bruce Arena’s Earthquakes defeated Minnesota United 4-2 at PayPal Park, claiming their 11th win from 12 matches this season.
The Rapids were pegged back twice by USL opponents Colorado Springs Switchbacks before winning 5-4 on penalty kicks after neither club could find a winning goal in extra time.
The U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals will take place between May 19-20.
