  1. difference is, findley always chokes . . . as an LAG season ticket holder i have always heard “he is so fast . . ”

you know, that is great. but, aside from the one good year at salt lake, what has he ever done (aside from miss gimmie goals?)

  2. holy zeus robbie findley sucks. anybody who claims the championship is much better than mls … i give you robbie findley. he was medicore in mls and he’s medoicre at Nott Forest … so i’d say the leagues are about the same.

  3. Terrible technique. He hops up in the air and hits it with the outside of his right foot. No wonder it went over the bar, that needed a tap or a nudge.
I’ve done the same, but I am a mere amateur, I expect better from someone who played in the WC.

  4. Jimmy Conrad’s miss at the Gold Cup was worse.

Some of the comments are a bit overboard. Every striker does this once in a while. I don’t rate RF very highly but keep things in perspective. He didn’t punch any blind kittens (thank you, Ricky Gervais).

  5. So have a lot of players who missed easy chances. The list is too long; I might leave off someone’s favorite whipping boy or someone’s favorite forward if I started.

  6. You people do realize that Robbie is left footed do you not? It is not excuse but it was not like he was shying away from him off foot.. he hit it with his off foot…

  7. This should stand as a reminder to all those who may be tempted to consider Findley as an asnwer to the Nats scoring trouble. Grass is greener and all that, but just because Jozy et al aren’t scoring enough for the nats doesn’t mean that anyone who hasn’t been in wearing the red white and blue will do any better.

I root for all Americans to do well overseas, but I never rated Findley as even a decent MLS striker, let alone to have the quality to succeed overseas.

  8. Looks like he had to step back to get the ball. Hard to say what his view was like as it came down – could have been stadium lights in his eyes. Still should have made it, though.

  9. Robbie, it wasn’t bad that you used your right foot. After all, you’re often supposed to let the ball come across your body so you can hit it with your upfield foot, but good lord… USE THE INSIDE OF YOUR FOOT!

Horrible miss and although I’m not a Findley fan, I’m not about to condemn a guy too badly. Weird misses happen. Even Donovan and Dempsey have missed some sitters. They happen and you move on.

  10. Now how can you say that?
Classic Robbie Findley is being sprung behind the back-line by a sublime pass, leaving one man to beat then dribbling out of bounds…

  11. It’s worth mentioning that besides the miss, Findley has probably been Forest’s best player out there today with a few good crosses, a good headed opportunity, & alot of activity on both sides of the ball playing as a winger. However its not saying much that he’s been one of their better players because they have been absolutely shocking today. Dreadful from Forest.

  12. that’s why you should always attack the ball instead of waiting. If he had just run through the ball with his head instead of letting it drop it would have been a simple goal.

  13. That was an unfortunate miss. Looks like a combination of getting caught off balance, having a teammate directly to this left, and trying to smash it immediately when he had time

Still not as bad as Torres miss against Man Utd this year.

  14. happened to catch this live, the commentators were all over him. as they should be.

seems like he was scared to use his left foot.
