Stress has been the cause of a recent trip to the hospital for Sepp Blatter, who will remain there for a few more days.
The outgoing FIFA president was reportedly hospitalized due to stress last Friday, and will not be cleared to leave until next week. Blatter reportedly suffered “a small breakdown”, according to the BBC, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Blatter’s spokesman, Klaus Stohlker, says that the FIFA president is currently “under a huge pressure” and had been told by doctors to rest.
“He is now, at this moment in hospital,” Stoehlker told AFP. “He is preparing to leave on Monday and will be back on the job on Tuesday.”

EX-MEXICO COACH LAPUENTE SLAMS CURRENT GENERATION OF PLAYERS
Former Mexico coach Manuel Lapuente believes there is plenty to criticize when it comes to the current crop of Mexico players.
Lapuente slammed this generation of El Tri stars, stating that the group has failed to achieve anything on the international level. Lapuente, who managed Mexico from 1997-2000, led El Tri to the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 1999 Confederations Cup titles.
“This (generation) hasn’t done anything,” Lapuente told ESPN. “It didn’t do anything in the World Cup, or in recent tournaments like the Copa America in Chile or the Gold Cup.
“We’ll see what happens in the Confederations Cup and qualifying (for Russia 2018).”
Lapuente went on to state his support for new coach Juan Carlos Osorio, who will take charge for the first time against El Salvador on Friday.
“I hope he does well, is successful and shows and proves that this generation is the best,” Lapuente said. “(I hope he) proves it in the individual and collective (senses) — as a collective they haven’t done anything.”
ARGENTINA DOCTOR SAYS MESSI SHOULD MISS EL CLASSICO
Lionel Messi is in a race against time to return for El Classico, but an Argentinian doctor insists that the Barcelona star needs more time to recover.
Messi has been sidelined since Sept. 26 due to injury, and the club is currently hoping that the star forward can return for the Nov. 21 clash with Real Madrid. However, Argentina team doctor Homero de Agostino says returning on that date could prove to be costly for the forward.
“The risk of aggravating the injury if Messi plays the El Clasico is high,” the doctor told Cadena SER. “I don’t think that he can get in condition to play the Clasico. The coach cannot rely on a newly recovered player.”

Cool and cute
Just die Sepp
Stay classy!
I’ve said for quite a long time, the only way Sepp is removed from FIFA is when he dies and we can only hope that comes sooner rather than later.
I struggle to feel any amount of sympathy or humanity for that man considering the blood on his hands (and lives that he’s cost) over greed.
Don’t be so dramatic. They were all business decisions like any company would make. Ask any American tobacco company why they still in business.
Thank you for validating my statement with that apropos comparison.
Old School, this statement is disgusting. I can’t stand Blatter, but I WOULD NEVER wish death upon another human who is guilty of bribery and corruption in SPORTS. Again, SPORTS!. HE isn’t a military dictator, he isn’t a killer, he isn’t a rapist. He is a head of sports organization that is corrupt. That is like calling for the death of the Russian sports federation because they cheat and use illegal supplements or the death some teams because they cheat or bribe officials/referees.
Anthony…. The blood of 1000s of dead migrant workers in Qatar, as well as the financially destroyed communities left in the wake of the last 2 world cups is on Blatter’s hands. While he never physically murdered an(y) individuals, many have died as a direct result of his actions.
If he dies, he dies. That’s it. Does that sound better?
I knew there would be someone that statement offended but I stand by my statement.
Additionally, (ignoring my sentiment) you should look further into the transgressions and horrific results that have occurred at the whim of Blatter. If you’re under the impression because sports are involved that no human injustice hasn’t taken place, your head is buried too far in the sand. To that, I find disgusting.
the real truth is that if the USA had won the 2022 World Cup, there would be no discussion about the “evils” of FIFA. As it is, these people now all of a sudden care about migrant workers in Qatar, and not really, because when you get right down to it, the migrant worker is only a tool for the argument that FIFA is the problem and the head of FIFA is the problem. What a great big load of kaka.
The argument against the head of FIFA and the organization itself, is this argument really helping to grow soccer in OUR country? And when I say our country, I’m talking the USA.
What job exactly will Sepp be back to on Tuesday? The one he is suspended from? Got to love their positioning.
Michu come to MLS and become another Sebastian Giovinco!!!!!
