Auston Trusty has declared himself back available for Scottish Premiership club Celtic.
The veteran centerback announced the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday ahead of Celtic’s UEFA Europa League match vs. Braga SC. Trusty had been sidelined with a foot injury since late-August, last featuring in a match on August 20.
He missed six matches in all competitions after being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis.
“Annddd we’re back in action! Feels good to be back on the pitch, and I’m excited to pick up where I left off,” Trusty said in his social media post.
Trusty joined Celtic last season from EFL Championship side Sheffield United and has made 41 appearances for the club since. He’s scored one goal and added one assist while also lifting the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish League Cup last season.
The former MLS homegrown defender will now fight with U.S. men’s national team teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers and veteran defender Liam Scales for minutes in Brendan Rodgers’ backline.
Celtic, who are second in the SPFL table, will aim for three points in Europa League play in Glasgow on Thursday night.
