The games may not have been against international competition, but the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team started 2016 off right with two wins.
The U.S. competed in its first two domestic friendlies of the year on Jan. 8, and defeated both SIMI Monteverde and Weston Select by a scoreline of 3-0 at Florida International University Stadium.
In the Americans’ first game, Alex Zendejas fed Coy Craft, who scored the first half’s only goal. Sebastian Elney and Isaish Young would score the other two for the win. Meanwhile, Eryk Williamson scored a double in the second game, while Emmanuel Sabbi netted the first of the match in the 10th minute.
Head coach Tab Ramos used almost all 36 players at his disposal during the two games.
The Americans will look forward to playing Albion Plantation SC and Miami Fusion at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday at FIU Stadium.
What do you think about the wins? See the U-20 side doing better in 2016? How do you think they will do on Tuesday?

Hard to know anything with those opponents.
good to see the boys getting wins in meaningless friendlies tho, good training for the senior team 😉
