Sporting Kansas City has had the better chances in the second leg of the Western Conference Final, but the Portland Timbers got the goal they needed with this laser from midfielder Sebastian Blanco:
This is just other worldly from Seba Blanco. Goodness. #OnwardRoseCity #RCTID #CelebrateThanks pic.twitter.com/4oUDdoJAhQ

That was Blanco’s third goal of the playoffs and it gave the Timbers the lead thanks to the away goals tiebreaker.
Diego Valeri added to the lead less than ten minutes later.
A GREAT and very important first Timbers goal from Blanco from about 35 yards out with just enough top-spin to beat the goalie and the top goal post. Plus he plays a major and critical role in giving the Timbers a top-notch MLS midfield. Blanco & your fellow Timbers team members, please have a repeat and WUNDERBAR performance to win the 2018 MLS Championship next Saturday in Atlanta in front of 70K fans, including a few from the Timbers Army!!!
