Relegation worries have started to set in for La Liga side Valencia and a trip to league-leaders Barcelona on Sunday poses a major challenge for Yunus Musah and his teammates.
Musah and Valencia sit in 18th place after recently earning their first league win since November. Ruben Baraja has continued to serve as manager following Gennaro Gattuso’s departure, giving Musah a new presence on the sidelines. Musah has made 20 league appearances this season, registering two assists, and working hard in his midfield role. The 20-year-old will be expected to offer more for Valencia with each of its next four matches coming up against teams sitting in the top-half of the league standings.
Barcelona has defeated Valencia in each of the last four head-to-head meetings and will be pushing themselves to stay seven points clear of Real Madrid.
In England, Leeds United visits Chelsea on Saturday with a trio of USMNT players pushing to start. Chris Richards and Crystal Palace face off with Aston Villa.
In Germany, Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach take on Freiburg. Gio Reyna and Borussia Dortmund kicks the Bundesliga schedule off on Friday against RB Leipzig.
In France, Tim Weah and Lille visit Lens on Saturday while Erik Palmer-Brown and Troyes host Monaco on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic resume SPFL action with a trip to St. Mirren on Sunday. Ricardo Pepi will fight to score his 10th Eredivisie goal of the season as FC Groningen visits Feyenoord. Two in-form defenders meet in Belgium as Marlon Fossey and Bryan Reynolds face off.
