Report: Christian Pulisic high on Lyon’s radar this summer

Christian Pulisic has remained on the reported radar of several European clubs this summer and one of France’s title chasers have made him a priority of theirs going forward.

Lyon has contacted Pulisic over a potential move to Ligue 1, French outlet L’Equipe reported Saturday. Lyon’s American owner John Textor is said to be on the move, and would have to fight off interest from AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli for Pulisic’s services, according to the report.

Juventus was reportedly leading the race for Pulisic in late-May. Pulisic, 24, signed with Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for a reported £58 million and one year left on his current contract.

The U.S. men’s national team star struggled for the Blues during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring just one goal and adding two assists in 30 combined appearances. Pulisic missed part of the second half due to a knee injury, while Chelsea as a whole struggled for consistency in English Premier League action.

A former UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup winner, Pulisic has totaled 26 goals and 21 assists in 145 combined appearances for Chelsea.

He recently helped the USMNT win a second-consecutive Concacaf Nations League title on Sunday. Pulisic scored twice in a 3-0 semifinal victory over Mexico before also logging 90 minutes in Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Canada.

Lyon finished seventh in Ligue 1 this past season, missing out on European qualification by five points.

  1. Don’t do it! He’s so underrated it’s ridiculous he should go to Manchester United they should stop trying to sign mount and sign him instead. He’s a little bit better than Mount and you have an American owner. Or go to Liverpool

  2. A move to Serie A would allow everyone to follow him on Paramount+ as well he’d play in high profile League. He’d have to shine from the get go as all 3 Serie A clubs are fairly stacked.
