AC Milan’s recent winning streak continued on Saturday with Christian Pulisic playing the hero at the San Siro.

Pulisic scored the winning goal for the Rossoneri in a 2-0 triumph over Lazio, giving him three tallies on the season. The U.S. men’s national team star logged 82 minutes in the result, giving Stefano Pioli’s men a 6-1-0 record in league play.

With both teams fighting for a breakthrough goal, Pulisic delivered for AC Milan in the 60th minute. Rafael Leao’s bouncing pass towards the Lazio penalty spot was volleyed home by Pulisic for a 1-0 advantage.

Pulisic was substituted off in the 82nd minute but watched from the sidelines as Noah Okafor delivered the insurance goal for the Rossoneri.

The 25-year-old Pulisic registered two shots on target, won five of 11 duels, and completed two tackles in the match.

AC Milan sits second in the Serie A table and will visit Borussia Dortmund next week in its second UEFA Champions League group stage match. It will mark the second head-to-head matchup between Pulisic against his former club.

  1. since the two players wide on the left are not in a straight line by the flag there is a throughball angle between instead of around the backs. and then pulisic isn’t just in a straight line across with the striker, he makes a delayed run to the spot after the striker has drawn everyone away. the runs provide more diagonal options and it’s not just everyone in a spot running predictably up and downfield.

    • Honestly we’d score a lot more US goals if our opponents CMs were as disinterested in defending as those two for Lazio were on this play. Left Pulisic wide open in the middle in the second half but CP was a little deeper and the keeper enough time to react and keep it out.

      • Wow, that sounds like damning praise … TBF, CM’s are not typically picking up RW’s cutting in from the chalk … AND CP10 dude put s very technical strike on frame that the GK got his hands too BUT just wasn’t able to get it sorted out.

Great dribble, Great movement, Great pass, Great strike and ultimately a great goal. Up CP10 and Milan!

      • Tx, the shouldn’t have been tracking him but there was no effort to do anything even after they realize Leao is behind the backline. They’re just standing there watching. Maybe they don’t get there but a concerted effort might have been enough to throw Pulisic. Great read by Pulisic, great vision by Leao, and good dangerous run by Giroud to occupy the other two defenders.

  2. Really good day for both Pulisic and Musah. Pulisic should have a had a second goal and probably an assist. Musah continue to grow into an all action 8 for Milan.
