A pair of American forwards will face off this weekend in Ligue 1 with European aspirations by season’s end.
Folarin Balogun and Emmanuel Sabbi will meet as Le Havre hosts AS Monaco on Saturday in Ligue 1 action. Balogun and third-place Monaco have won four of their last five league matches, most recently defeating Stade Brest 2-0. Balogun had one goal waived off due to offsides, which would’ve taken his season tally to four goals following his move from Arsenal. The U.S. men’s national team forward continues to be a key attacker for Monaco this fall.
Sabbi is still seeking his first goal or assist following his summer transfer from Danish club Odense. The 25-year-old has made eight appearances for the newly-promoted side, who are right outside of the top-six in the Ligue 1 standings. Sabbi has started in two of his last three appearances and ultimately would love to celebrate his first goal before the November international break.
In England, Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream and Fulham take on Aston Villa. Auston Trusty and Sheffield United face Brighton & Hove Albion.
In Spain, Luca De La Torre and Celta Vigo visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga action.
In Italy, Yunus Musah and AC Milan visit Lecce. Weston McKennie and Juventus host Cagliari.
Elsewhere, Cameron Carter-Vickers goes head-to-head with Dante Polvara. Henry Wingo and Ferencvaros seek a bounce-back league result against Fehervar. Taylor Booth and FC Utrecht host Excelsior in Eredivisie action. Alex Mendez and FC Vizela host Famalicao. Alex Zendejas and Club America face Tigres in its Clausura finale.
