Report: Weston McKennie available for Juventus-Man City UCL match

Juventus boss Thiago Motta will reportedly have the services of American midfielder Weston McKennie this week.

McKennie, who missed the last three matches due to a muscle injury, is expected to be back available, Sky Sports Italy reported Monday. The 26-year-old should be a big boost for the Bianconeri squad as Juventus hosts reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City in UEFA Champions League action Wednesday.

McKennie is expected to be joined by Douglas Luiz, who has also been sidelined recently this fall.

The U.S. men’s national team midfielder has missed four matches for Juventus this season but overall has done well to get back into the squad after reported links elsewhere last summer.

McKennie has scored two goals and added two assists in 13 appearances across all competitions. He has also made a shift back to a central midfield role after previously being used out wide at times.

Juventus has five matches remaining this month, including an Italian Super Cup semifinal tie against Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah and AC Milan. The Bianconeri sit sixth in Serie A this season.
