Lindsey Horan returned to league play with French side Lyon and the U.S. women’s national team star walked away with her latest productive performance.
Horan started and assisted once as Lyon defeated visiting Dijon 2-0 in Division 1 Feminine play. The USWNT veteran logged 69 minutes in the match, setting up Vanessa Gilles for Lyon’s opener after 27 minutes.
Danielle van de Donk doubled Lyon’s advantage in the 43rd minute, giving the hosts a two-goal cushion. Lyon would eventually hang on for all three points, moving five points clear of Paris Saint-Germain.
Horan now has 10 goals and four assists in nine starts for Lyon in league action.
The French leaders are now unbeaten in their last 18 matches across all competitions, winning 11-in-a-row. Up next is a Jan. 18 trip to PSG before a final match this month at Montpellier.
In England, Ethan Horvath earned Man of the Match honors as Cardiff City advanced to the FA Cup fourth round.
In Scotland, Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers started together as Celtic picked up three points at home.
