Gio Reyna and Borussia Dortmund advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
Reyna played the final five minutes of Dortmund’s 2-1 second leg victory over Lille on Wednesday. Niko Kovac’s squad advanced 3-2 on aggregate after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at Signal Iduna Park last week.
Canadian national team forward Jonathan David opened the scoring after five minutes for Lille but Dortmund would rally in the second half to flip things in their favor.
Emre Can’s 54th minute penalty kick goal paired with Max Beier’s go-ahead goal 11 minutes later helped the Bundesliga visitors advance to the final eight.
Reyna replaced Beier in the 85th minute and proceeded to play the final five minutes plus stoppage time. The U.S. men’s national team attacker will soon be headed to international duty for the CONCACAF Nations League Final Four.
Borussia Dortmund will face off with Barcelona in the quarterfinals this April.
Richie Ledezma, PSV suffer elimination at Arsenal
Dutch giants PSV faced an uphill battle ahead of their trip to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday and unfortunately could not overturn a lofty aggregate scoreline.
Richie Ledezma started and played 90 minutes in PSV’s 2-2 second leg draw with Arsenal, but Peter Bosz’s squad suffered elimination 9-3 on aggregate. The right back continued his starting role for the squad.
PSV pegged the Gunners back twice on the night with Ivan Perisic and Couhaib Driouech scoring the goals.
USMNT defender Sergino Dest was an unused substitute in the match after making his return to action last weekend.
The reigning Eredivisie winners will now aim to turn things around domestically after falling to second place in recent weeks.
Keep an eye on Harbor Miller with the Galaxy. 17 year old starting RB. Kid looks a legit RB/RWB.
Striker91,
So you never read my answer? Too bad.
Ignorance is rarely useful. Wait till you see macro aggression.
Cole Campbell did not dress for BVB or BVB II today. Looks like that adductor injury is hanging around. And people spent so much time yesterday arguing about him when he’s injured.
Vaq crazy self spent time, not me! I never replied back!
And went back and forth, gave him one response and kept moving! Don’t have time for microaggression online! People always misconstrue my post on here, when I am clear as day!

Striker, was a lot of people not just you and Vacqui. Bummer the kid is hurt, and probably wouldn’t have made a difference but we’ll never know.
Vacqui – that kinda sounds like a threat. I’m sure it was not. But what do you mean by wait till you see macro aggression?
Betinho
“Vacqui – that kinda sounds like a threat. I’m sure it was not. But what do you mean by wait till you see macro aggression?”
No threat.
The thing with this so called micro aggression term is that there is plenty of REAL aggression to worry about out there w/o getting caught up in so called “micro” ones that may or may not exist.
Cole Campbell already has a very nice life and probably has a great future. I’m not worried about him or any of these gifted kids.
This micro aggression term trivializes how much real life sucks and that is a bad idea.
JR,
The one person who never says anything about Campbell, to my knowledge, is Pochettino.
What that means I don’t know.
I think if healthy he had a shot for no other reason than Dortmund might bring to Club WC so Poch won’t see him now until September. The kid is really good at the youth level but can he transfer that to pros that’s yet to be seen. He’s got fewer minutes with Dortmund than Joe Gyau so we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.
JR,
Joe Gyau.
Another young American winger at BVB, he might have paved the way for Pulisic there.
If not for that horrible knee injury who knows what he might have become.
Guys like him, Jonathan Ammon and Josh Gatt are why I never get too excited about a Cole Campbell however good CC maybe. And Joe is still only 32.
