Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Robinson, Pulisic, and more

Fulham was dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday and now has to prepare for a crucial London Derby in English Premier League action this week.

Antonee Robinson and the Cottagers face Arsenal in a crucial top-half showdown for both clubs. Robinson, who missed U.S. men’s national team duty this month, played 71 minutes in Fulham’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The USMNT left back has been one of the consistent performers in Marco Silva’s squad this season, but even he couldn’t help Fulham avoid a lopsided defeat.

Fulham is still chasing a top-six finish this campaign and a road victory over the second-place Gunners could certainly boost those chances. However, a loss at the Emirates Stadium could also prove costly in the Cottagers quest for European Football next season.

Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic and AC Milan face rivals Inter in Coppa Italia action. Tyler Adams and Bournemouth take on Ipswich Town. Alex Zendejas and Club American continue CONCACAF Champions Cup action.

  1. I was disapointed to see Pulisic relent the PK. He doesn’t have it in him to be the guy the star. Leao was not happy Pulisic gave the PK to Santi you can see Leao kind of ripping into Pulisic before and after Santi flubbed it. Pulisic doesn’t have the top athlete mentality. I would most of our current players don’t. They have talent but not the mentality like all of top athletes have in every sport.
