Two of the English Premier League’s surprise clubs will resume league action against one another on Saturday.
Sixth-place Crystal Palace welcomes fourth-place Bournemouth to Selhurst Park, with two of the U.S. men’s national team’s leading figures playing headlining roles for their clubs. Tyler Adams and Chris Richards will square off for the first time this season, with both seeking to lead their clubs to three points.
Adams has started in all seven of Bournemouth’s league matches this season, logging over 600 minutes of action. The USMNT midfielder did not take part in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this month with his family expecting a new child. Nonetheless, Adams remains a key presence for club and country and is expected to be available for Saturday’s match.
Richards has also started in all seven of Crystal Palace’s league matches, while also featuring in UEFA Conference League and EFL Cup action. The 25-year-old defender has quickly grown into an important player in Oliver Glasner’s squad, helping the Eagles become one of the EPL’s more consistent sides.
These two clubs played out a pair of 0-0 draws last season, but expect goals to come in South London in the first of two league showdowns this campaign.
In England, Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United visit Burnley. Haji Wright and Coventry City take on Blackburn Rovers.
In Germany, Malik Tillman and Lennard Maloney square off in Bundesliga play. James Sands and St. Pauli take on Hoffenheim. Gio Reyna will aim to get back in action for Borussia Moenchengladbach.
In Italy, Christian Pulisic and AC Milan host Fiorentina while Weston McKennie and Juventus visit Como.
In France, Tim Weah and Marseille host Le Havre in Ligue 1 play. Folarin Balogun and Monaco visit Angers, with the USMNT striker seeking to carry his international form back to club level.
Elsewhere, Sergino Dest and PSV take on Go Ahead Eagles. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic face Dundee FC. Rokas Pukstas and Hajduk Split resume league play against Vukovar. Richie Ledezma and Chivas host Mazatlan in Liga MX action. Benji Michel and HJK visit Kups, remaining alive in the race for the Finnish league title.
