Alyssa Thompson nominated for WSL Player of the Month for November

Chelsea and U.S. women’s national team forward Alyssa Thompson’s positive run of form in November has earned her a major nomination.

Thompson was nominated for the WSL Player of the Month, the league announced Friday. She is one of six players nominated for the honor.

The 21-year-old scored two goals in two starts for Chelsea in league play, both of which came in draws against Arsenal and Liverpool. Thompson was also an unused substitute in one match as well against London City Lionesses.

A former NWSL standout with Angel City FC, Thompson has continued to rack up the minutes for the Blues this fall. In total, she’s made 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Alongside Catarina Macario and Naomi Girma, Thompson has helped Chelsea to a current second-place spot in the WSL table and a sixth-place spot in the UWCL standings.

Chelsea will resume league play on December 7 against Everton after the FIFA November International break concludes. Thompson is headed to USWNT duty for a pair of 2025 finale friendlies against Italy.
